Practice! George Eads Persona

So I’ve been meaning to make one of these for some time now and I finally got around to trying it out. I chose George Eads for my custom Firefox persona because I didn’t find one that’s readily available. Nothing too fancy with it—probably could’ve used more grunge in the effect, but it’s a test—so, [...]

Sidney the Baby Otter

This is probably the most cutest thing I’ve seen today that just melted my semi-cold heart lol. It really is adorable but 1) where can you get an otter for a pet and 2) they really should be living in their natural habitat. The cute big eyes, the fluffy-looking fur, and its chew toy got [...]

Another Redesign

So kmendaros.com gets another make-over.  I did like the theme I had up before, but there was definitely a lot of scrolling down to do. I like this one better because there’s definitely a lot more room like I’m used to and I can move out content that don’t belong here (but will be relocated). [...]

More Painting Practice

So I’ve been practicing more and more each night  on how to paint digitally.  I don’t know why I didn’t start doing this a lot earlier on when I was studying graphic design but, maybe because it was daunting. I love AcidLullaby’s tutorials on her Deviant Art page. It’s definitely given me a lot more [...]

I know I haven’t posted as much art-related content lately because I’ve been contemplating some things here and there; I’ve also been brushing up on my digital painting skills in Photoshop. It’s still mediocre when it comes to painting more “realistic” people, but my chibi-style has improved—painting-wise. In this piece I tried to incorporate Pochi-Chan’s [...]

I Finally Got the Shots I Wanted

These are a couple pictures of some of the rabbits found around my neighborhood. This baby spotted my sister and I out on a walk and it hunched down hoping I wouldn’t spot it. I was surprised how it didn’t run off after I did the best Jeff Corwin or Steve Irwin attempt to get [...]

Illustrator Tutorial Section Added

I’ve added a new tutorial section covering Adobe Illustrator. Currently the conveyed material is text-based and examples will be added to it soon. Graphic designers familiar with this software can create some of the most mind-blowing designs, graphics, and text using vector-based images.

Tutorials Section Up

I’ve added a tutorials section. I decided to make one because I wanted to show people how I color black and white photos. This is the method I learned from Gann when I went to JWU, which is so much easier (I think) than other methods I’ve used or tried before. So thanks, [Professor] Gann [...]
